Home composting

1. What is meant by "home composting"?
Home composting is the practice that allows you to transform household organic waste into compost, a sort of humus that can be used as a fertilizer for soils.
2. To implement home composting, the use of the compost bin is required?
Composting is not strictly necessary to carry out home composting. Indeed, some prefer the pit in the ground or the mound. The result is basically the same, the kinetics are different, oxygenation increases the process speed. The composter is aesthetically more orderly and (being equipped with a lid) it is less subject to stray phenomena (see link 10 for info on the request for composter).
3. Where and how you can buy the compost bin?
Until stocks are exhausted, just go to the environment sector (via ing. Spadola 56) and fill in the forms, you will then be called back to recover the composter. You can make your request from the comfort of your home by going to the municipality's website at http://www.comune.ragusa.gov.it/cittadino/rifiuti/compostaggio.html download forms, fill them out and send them to the address composera@comune.ragusa.gov.it. 4. Kitchen scraps of animal origin (bones, damaged meat) they are suitable for conducting compost heap?
It is preferable to avoid throwing bones and animal meat into the fermenting pile, as their decomposition time is much longer than other wastes. Moreover, this type of waste attracts animals, with the obvious consequences. However, it is advisable to limit the quantity.
